Hackers Cloning Wi-Fi Networks To Get Your Data
Lots of us do it, with hundreds of free Wi-Fi networks around town we boot up our computers and just assume it's safe when in fact you may be connecting to a hacker's hotspot.
Say you go to a coffee shop and their network is called "coffee shop" hackers will create a fake network called coffee shop 1" -- hoping you connect so they can get your personal info.
Here's how to protect yourself -- If you're in a cafe or coffee shop, employees will know the name of the official network and help you get connected.
If there's no one around to ask, you may want to move to a different location where you can be sure that the Wi-Fi network isn't a fake.
