Gas Prices Skyrocketed In Austin Last Week
The price of a gallon of gas jumped 16 cents in the past week.
The average price is now $3.33, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 830 gas outlets in Austin.
But we aren't alone. Nationally, prices went up 14 cents per gallon to an average of $3.48.
Including the change in gas prices in Austin during the past week, prices are five cents lower than the same day one year ago and are 19 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
The national average has increased 21 cents per gallon during the last month and stands four cents per gallon higher than this day one year ago.
"The national average has ticked higher in the last week, as rising oil prices have put upward pressure on gasoline prices," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "Unfortunately for angry motorists, there doesn't seem to be much relief in sight, at least for the time being, as retail prices continue to climb in virtually all areas of the country," DeHaan said.
