Car Burglaries On The Rise In Bee Cave

There's a community alert after a rash of burglaries in a popular area -- everyone who visits or lives around Central Park in Bee Cave are being told to make sure their car doors and windows are secure.

Police say they have several leads but want people to be careful and stay alert.

The park draws in dozens of people every day enjoying the outdoors, sports and time with their family.

But in the past several months police say criminals have also been enjoying the park. They find easy targets with people leaving personal items in plain sight, their doors unlocked and windows down. With most of the burglaries and break-ins happen before the sunsets.

Police day they are working with Bee Cave City Council to have a surveillance camera installed to deter these criminals or catch them in the act.
