Austin Suspect In Child Sex Trafficking Arrested

Police have arrested a man accused of forcing an Austin teenager into prostitution.

Deondre J. Jenkins, 27, is charged with trafficking of a child for sexual purposes.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted investigators with the Texas Attorney General's Office on Jan. 3 about a missing 16-year-old girl.

According to an arrest affidavit, her mother believed she was with a man who was trying to push her into prostitution.

The mother said she last saw her daughter on Dec. 25. She contacted a friend who had information about the man the girl was with. The friend gave the mother the man's phone number, the affidavit says.

On Jan. 4, the girl and her friend were found in Milwaukee.

The affidavit says that the girl told police she was with Jenkins, and that from Dec. 25 to Jan. 4 she had sex with 100-200 men in Austin, San Antonio and cities as they traveled to Milwaukee.

Jenkins was arrested Wednesday after returning to Austin, according to the Texas Attorney General's Office.
