Burglars Hit Same Austin House Twice


The Crestview neighborhood is on high alert -- neighbors say there has been a rash of burglaries in the area.

Nick Hanson and his roommates had their house broken into twice, the first time the burglars busted down the back door.

"You feel violated," said Hanson.

Nick says the suspects took personal items from him and his two roommates but left thousands of dollars of band equipment –it wasn't over, though, they would be back within a week.

The second time the suspects kicked down the front door.

"When they came the second time that's when they were loading everything out," said Hanson.

And that's when two neighbors sprang into action. One blocked the suspect's vehicle and the other called 911.

"When people know each other, I think when you build a community like that and they know and look out for each other, it makes you feel good when you know we are not the only ones this has happened to," said Hanson.
