Leander Home Burns To The Ground In Early Morning Fire
Firefighters responded to an early morning house fire in Leander.
The fire was reported just after 5 a.m. at 23221 Windy Valley Drive, just off of Round Mountain Road in far northwest Travis County.
Officials say the call came in as an unknown condition call and crews responded with one engine and one brush truck. At first it was thought they would find a grass fire or trash fire. Once firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered a small home was fully involved in the fire. The alarm was upgraded to a structure fire. According to officials, firefighters then went into defense mode as the entire structure was involved at the time of arrival.
The home is a complete loss and burned to the ground. No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
