Central Texans Frustrated By Sequestration Talk

Central Texans are frustrated and even saddened that their elected officials have failed to avoid the budget cuts being forced by sequestration. Here's a sample of local public opinion:

Johnie Madison: "Both the Democrats and the Republicans (are to blame). The leadership of both the Republican and Democratic parties have got to learn that they can't have their way on everything."

Patrick Teer: "I believe in a smaller government with more private and more personal accountability.  At the same time I recognize that there's a valid role for government to play. And I think there's too much focus on my idea, my idea, my idea instead of our idea as a country."

Carlos Ramirez: "Of course, there have been a lot of complaints in Washington that they're spending a lot more than they're bringing in and this has been going on for a long time. It has been but I don't think they're cutting back where they're supposed to be cutting. They need to cut back on their own salaries. That kind of stuff."

Jimmy Doluisio: "If this country is going to go down I would like it to go down helping people. Going bankrupt helping people, not the rich getting much richer and strangling the poor. You have to decide what kind of country we want to have."
