APD: Homeless Man Sexually Assaulted In South Austin After Ride From Downtown


Police say they need the public's help in finding a man they say sexually assaulted a homeless man in South Austin after getting a ride from a bar downtown.

Investigators say it happened last Monday in the early morning hours. The victim was given a ride from the 200 block of Fourth Street, near Lavaca Street, but was taken to an unoccupied apartment off Barton Skyway, where the suspect sexually assaulted the victim at gunpoint.

Police say the suspect was driving a Dark Grey 2008 or newer Toyota Sequoia with a tow package and chrome accents.

The suspect is described as:
  • Hispanic
  • Estimated to be in his 30s
  • Brown eyes with very thin, manicured eyebrows
  • 5'6" to 5'8" - about 190 pounds – Heavy set
  • Black, closely cut hair
  • Blue baseball cap with an orange colored underside bill
