Elderly Woman Killed In Far Northwest Austin House Fire Identified
The elderly woman who died in a house fire Thursday in far Northwest Austin has been identified.
Patsy Warford, 76, was killed Thursday at around 5:30 p.m. when her house in the 13000 block of Tamayo Drive caught fire.
Her husband was not home at the time.
According to Jollyville Chief John Kiracofe, the fire started in the back of the house. He says the cause of the fire has not been determined but could be available by next week.
A neighbor says the community tried to save Patsy and her home. "There was thick black smoke, and glass popping and bursting and flying. So instead we tried to use hoses to start working on it," Janice Daquila-Pardo said.
She says the couple’s dog survived the fire.
