Pflugerville Police Stepping Up Patrols After Attempted Kidnapping

Pflugerville police are searching for a man accused of trying to kidnap two elementary school girls Wednesday morning.

It happened at around 7 a.m. near Murchison Elementary right next to the Falcon Pointe subdivision.

Police say they got four reports of a man fitting the suspect's description and are stepping up patrols in the area.

"We take for granted that we are in a safe neighborhood. It was pretty scary for us," says resident Kristen Villarreal "It's scary. It's tough. You start thinking about your daily routines and are you doing the right things and should you be doing things differently.

Police saying the victims were approached by a white man with a gray hoodie - one even asking if they could help him - as they walked away the suspect grabbed one of them by the shoulder while the other started screaming. The man put his hand over the girls mouth and tried to keep her there, but she was able to escape. Both ran  to their elementary school.

Police say they have set up specialized patrols for the area.
