9 Displaced In Southeast Austin Fire
The Austin Fire Department responded to an apartment fire that displaced a family of nine in Southeast Austin.
AFD responded to 4501 East Riverside Drive near Pleasant Valley in Southeast Austin around 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
Fire officials said when firefighters arrived, they saw smoke and quickly located a fire in an upstairs bedroom. The fire was quickly extinguished.
The fire displaced a family of nine and the fire department estimates damages at $40,000 structure and $15,000 contents.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family and no injuries were reported.
