Austin Gives Hits Its Stride


Austin Gives is hitting its stride. It's a program the Austin Chamber of Commerce began to highlight local businesses that give back to the community.

Zuma Office Supply is one of those businesses.

Here's what owner Greg Pierce says about his company's commitment to philanthropy. "The way that we give back is we give back half of our annual profits to charity.  So we work with a variety of different charities we've selected and we actually let our customers have a say in who they want us to support. We know there's a lot more to it than just giving money to these charities so we volunteer our time. We were just awarded second place for the small business challenge with the Capital Area Food Bank. What that included was volunteer time ... so we worked their food pantries and work out in warehouses sorting food and also monetary donations. I feel its businesses responsibility to change society by giving back."
