Pflugerville Gets Full-Time Animal Shelter Director


For the first time the City of Pflugerville has a full-time shelter director.

Rhonda McLendon brings more than 20 years of experience to the table.

Prior to her arrival, the Pflugerville Police Department helped run the shelter. But city officials say the city needed a full-time director because of growth.

One of McLendon's goals will be to grow the shelter volunteer program.

"I love volunteer programs, I think the more community involvement in a shelter the better it is for the animals and placing them, more people excited, wanting to help, that's a big deal to me," McLendon says.
