Austin Police Chief Acevedo Testifies Before House Gun Task Force
Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo testified today in Washington, D.C. before the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force.
The hearing was titled "The Need for Background Checks: Preventing Criminals and Dangerously Mentally Ill from Getting Guns."
The hearing focused on the need for legislation requiring background checks to ensure persons prohibited from owning firearms are not able to purchase them.
