Homeless Man Stabbed At Downtown Austin Church
A fight between two homeless men this morning ends with one of them being stabbed.
The Austin Police Department tells us the victim and another homeless man were standing in line for food near 7th and Trinity Street just before 8 a.m. when they say the two men began arguing about who was next in line. That’s when we're told the suspect stabbed the man with a pen or a similar object.
The victim was taken to University Medical Center-Brackenridge with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is in custody, but no charges have been filed yet. Neither man has been identified.
