Brownsville State Rep. OK After Traffic Crash
Texas State Rep. Rene Oliveira was involved in an accident this morning and is in an Austin hospital.
State Rep. Charlie Geren made the announcement this morning on the House floor. He also said Oliveira had "totaled his car."
A University Medical Center Brackenridge spokeswoman says he is in good condition.
Oliveira is a Democrat who represents Brownsville. He has been in the Texas Legislature since 1992.
We are awaiting information from police on the details of the crash.
