She was arrested and charged and booked for the DWI.

According to her state biography Gonzalez serves on the General Investigation and Ethics Committee – which deals with the conduct of and ethical standards of state and local government officers and employees.

Austin police say after the crash Gonzalez went to the hospital where she submitted to a blood alcohol test,

We're told both the driver and the cyclist will be OK. Results are pending on the blood test that was taken after the accident.

Gonzalez released the following statement Thursday night -

I hope you understand, I won't be commenting further until the legal matters have been resolved. I appreciate the support I have received from my family, my colleagues and my friends. I am committed to moving forward and continuing the important work of this legislative session."
