Austin Council Approves Helicopter Upgrade
The Austin City Council approved more the $1 million Thursday to outfit a police helicopter.
The package includes equipping the chopper with a search light, night vision goggles, and a cargo hook sling suspension system.
The additions will make it more than just a crime-fighting vehicle.
It will also be deployed for search and rescue missions, and during wildfires.
