South Austin Storage Unit Fire Investigated As Possible Burglary, Arson


The Austin Fire Department responded to a call to investigate smoke at Lone Star Self Storage early Monday morning.

Officials say the call came in just after 3 a.m. and they proceeded to 403 East Ben White Boulevard in south Austin, just east of South Congress Avenue.

According to the Austin Fire Department, firefighters were quickly able to knock down the fire. Three storage units were damaged with adjacent units suffering additional smoke damage.

Officials also say that there was evidence of a break-in. The fire is being investigated as a possible burglary and arson.
